Junk Drawer 1-23/ Killer Robot Edition

So two nights ago I rented "Eagle Eye". It is a good thing that I live in Alaska so that if ever some super-computer in the basement of the Pentagon decides that I am a threat to national security I can just drive a couple hours up the road and be off the grid and out of harms way.

I do have some lingering questions though:

  • Did some producer say to himself, "That foul mouthed street kid in I, Robot is a big star now. We should remake that movie and make him the star and not Will Smith" and then made it happen with "Eagle Eye" being the result?
  • Why did the computer even need Shia LeBeouf's help? Wouldn't the plan have worked even if he hadn't removed the biometric lock?
  • Is the fact that the evil computers in both "Eagle Eye" and "Wall-E" are female a subliminal message of some sort? If so, what?
