One over looked option by adding David Lee

As many fans know, there are a million and one ways to utilize players such as LA and BROY who have a broad range of talents. One over looked option for the blazers in terms of having a very strong half court offense the would rival most anyones would be to signDavid Leeand play him at the 4 and move LA to a hybrid 3-4 spot. This would not clog up the offense at all, but rather makes it much more dynamic. As we all know, LA loves the mid-range jumper. He is an amazing face-up shooter and fast break option. Lee is more of a bruiser that can post someone up in the key and also get tough rebounds and play solid D. In addition to this, Batum could be moved over to a hybrid 2-3. Roy thus would play a hybrid 1-2. This would be nice for the Roy because many argue that he would wear down as a full time PG by having to drive to the hoop constantly, but with a true post threat like Lee in the picture, he could defer much more often. Having Lee in the post would also create more open looks for our jump shooter in the form of kickouts. I also think that having him in the middle with Oden takes a ton of pressure off of the big fella and will help him develop on the defensive end. So a break down of how I would have the line up go for next season:

1: Roy 25 Min, Bayless 23 Min

2: Batum 20 Min, Roy 10 Min, Rudy 18 Min

3: LA 25 Min, Batum 10 Min, Rudy 13 Min

4: Lee 35 Min, LA 13 Min

5: Oden 28 Min, Pryz 20 Min

This is an 8 man rotation that would be sound defensively, and provide us with one of the best half court sets in the NBA. For our bigs, it would be nice having Lee as a 3rd 5 as well in case of fouls. Bayless will take a lot of the penetration pressure off of Roy when he is moved over to the 2 spot. This would be just about the most dynamic 8 man rotation around, it would just require Nate letting go of some of his control freakness and allowing those young guys to develop. For those of you who think that LA cannot play the 3 because of him not being a true 3 pt threat, you need to give him some time to adjust to it but he will be able to in due time given his work ethic.
