A thought came to me while watching the Blazers get staked by Philly - Brandon's recent revelations may mean much bigger changes than most have anticipated...

Brandon is a warrior, no doubt, as you could see yet again by his toughing out a wrist sprain to can two free throws, late. He's tough. But toughness can't grow meniscus. Even though he is a fine spot up shooter, it’s abundantly clear that he no longer possesses the physical ability to take over a game in the 4rth quarter. The BRoy ISO, I believe, is officially dead.

The thought then struck me that BRoy not being BRoy any more eliminates the need for the Blazers to search for the elusive "point guard who can convert an FBP into a 3". In other words, we can go with a traditional point guard. This, to me, means that Dre and AJ (despite the worst game of his career in Philly) could be a reasonable PGOTF combo... (Dre needs to turn the crazy Lab-puppy AJ into a nice ol' dog...)

It also means that as the Nate/Brandon ISO experiment is likely never going to produce a title, now would be a good time to get a more traditional coach: one that believes in a motion offense, fast break, tough man to man no switch D, gives the ball to the traditional point guard all game long, even in the fourth quarter, and has enough control over his locker room to handle superstars, even fading ones…
