Why be so quick to blame Nate? Could the fault possibly be the new assistant coaches? Since the team is similar to recent years the difference seems to be the new coaches and Brandon's health. The team was used to and trusted the previous staff, and now they don't seem to. Perhaps a change could be made without firing the head coach. Many posters seem to miss the fact that Nate is respected on the national staff so he can't be to bad, also there seem to be a few stories going around about he and some choice jobs. Having said that Nate is to tied to timed substitutions. These are professional players they don't need a rest every 5 minutes, if they playing either good offense or defense leave them in till they ask out themselves. Also we don't any offense except ISO, other teams have the Triangle, Motion or other variations we need a real play book. Defense is the same we don't defend at all from the weak side. And don't tell me the players won't do it. if I told them to they would period super-star or not if they don't follow directions they can find somewhere else to play.
Brandon Roy's days as a all-star are done and he can't be traded. Eat his big salary and move him to the end of the bench as a mid-game 3-shooter and start Mathews. At 6'5" he is a good sized hard-nosed 2-guard not a small forward, leave that to Nick and Babbit. Stop whining about LMA he fills the position as good as Uncle Cliffy and Mr. Technical Foul,( we should have kept Grant).
It would be best to re-sign Miller and Joel, we don't have any real trade goods beside Rudy and Cuningham. We should keep the expiring contracts and work with the trade exception and future draft picks. One shot be Andre I from Philly.
Miller
Mathews
Nick
LMA
Canby-Joel
This group can win games while some of the younger players come along. And being out on a limb we should keep Oden signed until he either plays or retires from old-age.
