I know this may be redundant to some, i do not mean it this way. However, after my personal revelation about 'Dre Miller and reading/ keeping track of our team and Camby's play i have to profess my Fandom of Camby as well as Miller. Two old grizzled vets, tried and true bad @$$'s of the NBA. These guys have been around the block as they say.
Let me play devil's advocate though, Camby has a downside that being offensively. Camby is not a threat on offense ALTHOUGH he does compliment very well in certain aspects, Passing out of the Center position, mid range jumpers sometimes, the occasional put back off the O-rebound, etc. We all pretty much know his game at this point, the talk of him going anywhere else next year concerns me greatly. Joel probably wont be back to normal next year, period.....Greg comes back, awesome....probably gonna happen......Joel wont be right until next year at the most optimistic......rehab, working back to playing shape, getting acclimated, etc. I love me some Vanilla Gorilla but i doubt its gonna be something we get to see from here on out.
So Camby gives us the next year or two to figure out if Joel will come back or if we need to move in another direction. Question is, can we resign Camby? Biggest question of the off season will be backup/ starting defensive type center? We wont need some kind of offensive only Bargnani type, a Camby/ Oden defensive center type is the perfect compliment to our current team make-up. Camby fills the bill completely and can teach Oden the ways(i hope he has already begun this) of defense without fouling out every game. Camby is a black hole when it comes to rebounds, he blocks shots with the best in the league, by the way he also leads our team in steals, all the while having a roughly 2.2 fpg average. God i would love to see Oden with that kind of fpg and still cleaning boards and blocking shots, plus playing 30+ mpg.
I have read the rumors of a possible Camby reunion in NYC, i am cap ignorant and i wonder.........do we have the ability to resign him next year? Can we claim Joels cap number if he goes(injury wise) RLEC? If so....if we resign Camby and go over the cap what are the ramificationsof this cap wise? I guess in short, Miller will be here next year, Camby should......regardless i am a huge fan now of both players BUT i absolutely WISH Camby stays here, i just am not sure if this is possible, if it is......
