Top Five Remaining Shooting Guard Free Agent Targets

Portland is likely to add one more free agent before we are all done. There are still some serviceable power forwards and shooting guards left. Let's take a look at some of the shooting guards we could be targeting.

Guards

1. Jamal Crawford

There is not a whole lot that needs to be added here. He has been a rumored target for a long time and his name keeps coming up. Acquiring Crawford means amnestying Roy first. Indiana, Minnesota, and New York are among the other teams supposedly still in the hunt.

2.Reggie Williams

Now that he is no longer a restricted free agent, Portland is among the teams pursuing Williams. I have long had my eye on him as a potential under-the-radar pickup for us. Williams is a very good three-point shooter who can also create shots for himself. He would fit nicely off the bench.

At 25, he could also be a part of the team for a long time.

3.DeShawn Stevenson

He is a little crazy, but I think Stevenson could really help us. Along with the addition of Thomas, the addition of Stevenson would bring a lot of added toughness and experience. Along with the toughness/experience, he would also help solve another of our issues: three-point shooting. Stevenson is a very good spot up shooter. He would also make be another nice defender to throw at the Durants and Kobes of the league.

4.Willie Green

Green is an under-the-radar role-player. At 6'4, he is slightly undersized, but pretty much does everything that a prototypical back shooting guard should do. He is a decent defender and shooter, with ok ball-handling skills. Green is heading over the hill, but would be a solid veteran backup player. I could easily picture him fitting in with Nate.

5.Michael Redd

Redd is more likely to sign with a contender, and with a history of knee problems, he is sure to miss the whole season if he signs with Portland. Still, he is a great shooter when healthy, and was a borderline All-Star not long ago.
