Blue: Armon Johnson Says Being In The D-League Is "Really Tough"
It's been a busy few weeks for the Portland Trail Blazers, and we've kind of neglected rookie point guard Armon Johnson, who was recently sent down to the team's D-League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede. Thankfully,Molly BlueofThe Oregonianwent out to Idahoto track him down. Johnson's quotes read like a plea for a recall. --------------------------- "I'm just trying to embrace it," Johnson, the 34th pick in the 2010 NBA draft, said after Saturday's shootaround. "I'm doing my best to embrace it and just be positive about it. It's really hard for me just to ... be away from my team, you know?" ... "The biggest difference is expectations," Johnson said. "Things change. It's like, you don't really know anyone here, you're not at home, you're not as comfortable as you would be normally and you've just got to find a way to fight through it and keep your attitude the right way, because it's tough. It's real tough." --------------------------- Johnson is平均15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2 turnovers in 27.2 minutes in five games (just one start) for the Stampede. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com |Twitter
