Ben and I are feverishly working on the first part of the season recap for Monday. OK, maybe we're working languidly. Give us a break. We just did 82 games plus the playoffs. We've earned a little bubble bath time. But before we bid adieu to the Dallas series entirely there's one piece of business to which we must attend. As you may recall, we made a bet withMavs Moneyballbefore the series started. The losing team's site had to compose a poetic ode to the winning team and their prowess in the series. This gives us a chance to revive an old tradition here: the post-season poetry rundown.
If you want to help us pay off the bet strictly you can submit a poem about Dallas and/or the series below. We'll choose the best and have the Dallas folks look at it. I might even submit one of my own sometime over the weekend just to make sure we fulfill our end of the bargain. But we'll expand the parameters too. You can compose poems about the team, the season, individual players, whatever you'd like that's Blazers-oriented. The field is wide open. Any type of poetry is OK too. You can choose anything from Haiku to Shakespearian Sonnets or beyond. Sum up your feelings about the Blazers, the season, and/or the playoffs in verse.
We'll be looking forward to reading your results! Not only does Portland have the best fans in the league, they're among the most creative and sharp as well. Here's your chance to show it. Enjoy!
