开拓者意想不到的移动——一个新的草案罗伊?

Every year the Blazers seem to surprise us on draft day. So I've been trying to think outside the box...

We all know the Blazers need a PG and some help at PF/C. And there are definitely some options in this draft. Darius Morris, Reggie Jackson, Nolan Smith or big men Kenneth Faried and Nikola Vucevic. I think each of these guys is intriguing.

But what if the Blazers had the chance to draft a newBrandon Roy?

If the Blazers don't feel like they can get a PGOTF or the right big man, might they go after a long-term replacement for Brandon Roy? I love Wes Mathews as much as the next guy, but I have doubts about whether he's truly a starting SG on a Championship team. So I've been quietly keeping an eye on SG prospects in this year's draft too.

I know we're already log jammed at SG but I expect Rudy to be moved and it sounds like there will definitely be some form of Amnesty available this summer. So I would say it's 50/50 that we've seen the last of B Roy.

So if you had the chance in a weak draft to replace B Roy, would you do it? I might. And the guy I'm looking at is Alec Burks.

Draftexpress.com has Alec's best case scenario as...guess who...Brandon Roy!

Now it's hard to start comparing the two, especially considering that Burks is still a sophomore whereas Brandon came out as a senior, but a lot of their stats are comparable.

Physically, Burks is comparable to Brandon being 6'6" and he has a slightly longer reach at 6'10". He probably needs another 5-10 lbs of muscle to equal Brandon, but the guy is still only a sophomore. Brandon is more athletic, but again we're comparing Brandon as a senior to Alec as a soph.

At the same point in their careers Alec is scoring more, rebounding better and shooting better from 3. It's also thought that Burks can play some PG, just like Brandon.

I'm not saying Alec Burks will be as good of an NBA player as Roy was, but if he could even come close, he would be a steal in this "weak" draft. Right now draftexpress has him going 12th. Nbadraft.net has him going 10th.

So in theory he'd be easier to obtain than say Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight. Thoughts?
