Junking it on a Sunday afternoon

My folks are in town from S.L.C. and I thought I'd share what my mom thought of our lovely city. Back story; she engages with all sorts of people, young and old, to satisfy her curiosity of what they are doing. She does this in a way that is genuinely earnest and kind. This embarrassed me to no end as a teen, but now that she's old, and I am older, I find it amusing. My dad likes this town, but my mom loves it. She can't get over how progressive things are here, and how the people we've encountered have been so natural. She thinks that people here don't come across as having an air of pretension, and that folks seem more comfortable in their skin. I explained about the reputation of the hipster and trying to seem as if you don't try. But really, P-town, thanks for being cool to my folks and being a great city. Enjoy this lovely day.
