New, comments

Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard Damian Lillard would like to remind everyone how to spell his last name.

Getting your name mentioned with Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas and LeBron James would usually make for a pretty good first week in the NBA. At least, if the people mentioning your name could get it right.

Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard Damian Lillard was watching television on Sunday night when former NBA playerMitch Richmond, providing analysis forNBA TV, tried to show him some love.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Blazers broadcasterMike Ricereferred to里沃德为“莉莲”on a summer episode of开拓者场边. "Lillian Willard" actually has a nice ring to it.SB Nation's Bomani Jonesadmitted on Twitter on Sunday nightthat he also botched Lillard's name on a recent video.

Lillard, in his rookie season out of Weber State, is averaging 21.3 points, 9.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds so far in three games. The world will be catching up soon enough.

Update: Richmondapologized on Twitterand wound up spelling "brother" wrong in the process.
