In 34 years of being a Blazers fan, I have never rooted for the Blazers to lose...until tonight. By virtue of Philadelphia and Toronto winning tonight, Portland can accomplish three things by losing: 1) Eliminate the need for a coin flip to determine the draft lottery seeding between Toronto, Philadelphia, and Portland for the 10-12 lottery seeds. Portland would guarantee the #10 spot in the draft lottery. 2) Although it is still mathematically possible, there would be less than a .001 percent chance of Portland landing the #13 pick and thus having to convey it to Charlotte. Losing means Portland virtually guarantees keeping its pick. 3) Portland's chances of landing a top three pick slightly increase and, more importantly, Portland has a great chance of landing the #10 pick (87%) as opposed to falling to #11 or #12. I definitely want the 750 BEdger kids to have a blast tonight, but we could use the loss.
