Our best trade asset is Aldridge. Olshey shouldn't be afraid to make a deal.

We need size, we need better interior defense, and we desperately need depth. We also have free-agency money and an All-Star in his prime who's semi-likely to walk away at the end of his current contract, plus an emerging star ready to make the team his own.

This is the summer to tradeLaMarcus Aldridge. It's the quickest way to build depth, and there's a FA out there who's a top-tier PF and could replace Aldridge.

Here are my proposals:

1.Make this trade.

2. Replace Aldridge by signingPaul Millsapto a Batum-like deal.

3. SignSamuel Dalembertat the MLE for 2-3 years as (hopefully) a bridge toMeyers Leonard.

4. Use the draft pick to get Michael Carter-Williams (Syracuse) to back up Lillard.

Here's the rotation after all is said and done:

SF - Batum/Ilyasova/Claver (who could also be PF)

PF - Millsap/Henson/Freeland

C - Dalembert/Leonard/Mbah a Moute

SG - Matthews/Barton

PG - Lillard/Carter-Williams

undetermined: Pavlovic? E. Williams? Can Maynor be brought back for PG depth at low-cost?

If we want to get better in a hurry, I think this is one of the least reckless ways to do it. Flame away, BEdgers!
