ESPN Dallas is reporting Mayo will opt out of his deal with the Mavs but would be open to returning to Dallas but wants a long term dealhttp://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/9186648/oj-mayo-dallas-mavericks-opt-contract....
In a Jason Quick article the other day Mayo was quoted saying "I love him. Love him dearly." about Blazers GM Neil Olsheyhttp://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2013/04/trail_blazers_and_free_agency_part_i_will_love_and.html
The Blazers are in need of scorers and Mayo can do that, he gets to the charity stripe decently, shoots the 3 well, has good handles (although he had some turnover problems this season) and is good on the perimeter defensively. I think he could be had for a 3-4 year contract at around $5.5-6mill a year....
If we make a trade for a center that should clear up some cap space to make a move like this, would allow us to re-sign Maynor and go after a backup SF/PF, this team could easily be a 6th seed in the west.... So what do u guys think? Could Mayo fit on this team with a reasonable contract? could we convince him to be our 6th man? If He demanded that he be the starter would Wes work as a 6th man? would adding a veteran guard make it less likely that maynor would want to stick around due to lack of minutes?... sound off in the comments and vote in the poll!
