Neil has been very forthcoming with his offseason agenda. From his exit interview to his sit down with Jason Quick that produced a two part divulging of information. (article found here http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2013/04/trail_blazers_and_free_agency_part_ii_neil_olshey.html ).
Aggressive: the one word that continually comes up when describing our offseason plans.
"We have the 10th pick, the 39th pick, the 40th pick and the 45th pick, so we've got a lot of deal-making tools, and the rights to Kostas Papanikolaou. We're going to be incredibly aggressive over the next two months to build the roster."
"At the end of the day, the draft is a player acquisition vehicle. If the best player we can get is via the draft, we're going to draft. If the best player we can get is by moving that pick and using our cap room and other assets to acquire the better player, we are going to accelerate this and get the best team on the floor possible."
Olshey acknowledges JJ played out of position and in the Quick article references us to being similar to the 2004 pistons.. Only lacking theBen Wallacepresence in the middle. The next two months will be exciting with a lot of movement. Culminating on draft night where we hopefully have a new center!
