I think there´re players who have natural skills regarding either or both reading plays/situations and visual speed, and I think those two are not talked as much as speed, shooting, hustle, length, etc. Well, probably because they´re not as important as those ones, hehe.

I think reading offenses and defenses, anticipating what´s going to happen, is one of the most important things in basketball. Some players can read the game since they started playing in the NBA, as they have that natural skill and have worked on it, and all of them can do it at a good level after some years in the league. Visual speed (which I think is different to quickness, although I think they are related) can not be learned. I´m not an expert nor do I have scientifical confirmation though. Here´s an example of natural visual high speed:Tumblr_loci40tcac1qh7487o1_r4_400_medium

I know players who can move as if they were consciously dividing their moves in fragments, watching them in frames, moving in perfect control of their bodies, as if they can see more frames than we do (like a fly can do), and they´re players who don´t look much quicker than other basketball players, although they´re always good at changing speed. Harden seems to be the perfect example. Also that guy who played for the Wolves this year, Somebody Roy, looked like that too. All profesional players practice so much, and still some ones look like mechanic, especially when they´re tired, which makes a big difference. Are there any other basketball attributes people don´t talk enough in your opinion?
