Okay, I thought I might as well jump in the middle of all this craziness leading up to the draft. Ive been mock drafting it, reading a ton on draftexpress and just checking up on this years crop of draftees on any website that might have some good info.
So how about Rudy Gobert? He is a PF/C. He is listed at #11 on the draft express top 25, #16 on chad fords top 100. His website list him as 7ft 2 in but most sites have him listed as 7ft 1 in and 230lbs. He has an insane, and I believe the largest wingspan of anyone in the draft, listed as record breaking at 7ft 9inches!!!! He is from France, so we have the French connection with Batum. Hes got A TON of potential.
His best averages are from 10-11, but only he played only 29 games, a small sample size to get any real #s from. But here they are none the less:
15pts 10.3rebs 2.3blk 1.4ast 1.2stl
His website lists his strengths and weaknesses as:
Strengths:
Excellent skill level
excellent hands
uses both hands equally
free throw shooting
shot blocking skills and tools
huge upside
work ethic
bball iq
ability to run the floor
athletecism and fluidity
excellent wingspan

大小position
solid frame
Weaknesses:
Footwork
post moves
gets backed down in the post
experience
offensive fundamentals
physical toughness
strength

So after all of that, are you interested in this kid or is he to much of a project? Is he a future Hakeem Olajuwon or a futureHasheem Thabeet? I think its possible that he would make a great backup to LMA, and even be able to play center as well. Anyways, he is just one more really intriguing prospect amongst many. Tell me what you think?
