CSNNW杰森很快注意到一个夹克坐在氧化铝ne while the locker room was abuzz with media after the memorable opening night victory on Wednesday.Ed Davis, who had just had his first regular season double-double as a Trail Blazer, was not interested in the attention.

"Honestly, that's better with me, because I'm hungry after the game,'' Davis said Thursday at practice. "So I'm trying to get out of there."

"I don't do anything for the fame, or the glory. I love to play basketball. And I want to win and help the team,'' Davis said. "Talk to me or not, it doesn't really matter to me.''

So far, the media has not talked with Davis much, but his teammates, especiallyDamian Lillard, have noticed and appreciated his workmanlike attitude toward the game.

"He's a guy who is going to do the dirty work, he's a guy who is going to be a good teammate,'' Lillard said. "I mean, Ed is constantly talking. I can hear him behind me on defense, and running down the court, I hear him and he's patting me on the back. Those are the guys you need to be a successful team.''

Trail Blazer fans are most certainly going to embrace Davis because he embodies the characteristics that we fans have cherished in Portland for more than 35 years:

"It's not pretty; a lot of guys don't want to do it,'' Davis said. "A lot of guys want to shoot the threes, the flashy things, but you know what? Somebody has to do the dirty work. Somebody has to set hard screens, somebody has to roll to the basket, get to the offensive glass. That's one of the things I take pride in.''

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm stoked to watch more of this "lunch-bucket" guy play basketball. You can read the rest of Quick's extensive articlehere.
