I suggest Blazers offer Kaman and AAA (who opts in to play with Lebron and the cavs). Then trade 23 and 24 to move up and grab someone who can contribute immediately, while clearing over 10 mil in cap space and playing time for Meyers. Cavs would be thrilled to have Kaman and AAA. We could probably even get more than Haywood and the 24th pick. But question for the salary cap gurus.. how much does clearing the $10+ million actually help the blazers? Do they lose the full MLE? Assuming they re-sign everyone, are they still over the cap so can't use it to sign anyone new?
