Victor Claver joins Russian club PBC Lokomotiv Kuban

Former Blazers forward Victor Claver will sign with Russian club PBC Lokomotiv Kuban.

David Pick of Basketball Insiders tweets that formerTrail BlazersforwardVictor Claveris finalizing a deal with his second Russian club since beingtraded by Portland to the Nuggets in a five-player deal back in February.

Claver, 27, is set to join PBC Lokomotiv Kuban after being waived by Khimki Moscow this past mid-season. Details of the deal are unknown.

The Spaniard returned to Europe earlier this year after being traded to and eventually waived by theDenver Nuggetsfollowing last February's trade deadline.

Claver was taken by Portland with the No.22 pick in the 2009NBA draftand joined the team in 2012 after playing several years in Spain. In three seasons with the Blazers, he averaged 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, appearing in 80 contests.

Former Trail Blazer and British big man Joel Freeland is alsoplaying in Russia with CSKA Moscow despite being offered a deal to play with Dallasfor the 2015-16 season.
