ThePortland Trail Blazersreturned to their winning ways, but it wasn’t easy. A week after beating thePhoenix Sunsby 48 points, Portland withstood a far stronger, more cohesive effort in a 114-107 win. Clearly looking for a little payback, the Suns were relentless, keeping Portland’s lead in single digits. The Suns were still within 2 points with less than 4 minutes left, but Portland made the big plays down the stretch. Damian Lillard sunk a floater with 30 seconds left to seal the victory.
The Blazers were led by CJ McCollum andLillard, with support fromJusuf Nurkic,Pat Connaughton, Al-Farouq Aminu, andEvan Turner.
