Blazers in "purgatory" since drafting Oden in June 2007? YES, and I am ok with it

Some posters disdain seasons with low playoff seeds in favor of rebuilds with the goal of winning a ring or making the finals.

别人如果开拓者可以competi感到满意tive and put a winning product on the court more nights than not. I am in this camp because, as a Cubs fan, the long stretches of being a sub-.500 team were horrible. I equate "good day" with "Blazers win" so much that the thought of 15-20 win seasons is quite depressing.

我看如果开拓者在purgatory over the last 10 years, and I think the answer is yes.

THE GOOD

In the last 10 years, only 5 teams have made the playoffs more frequently (Spurs, Hawks, Celtics, Bulls, and Mavs). Minnesota and Sacramento have not been in the playoffs in the last 10 years. Phoenix, Charlotte, NYK, Nets, and Detroit have made it 3 or fewer times in that time period.

The Blazers are one of a dozen teams that have won a playoff series in the last 2 years. Seven teams have not won a series in the 2010's (Bucks, Hornets, Minn, Kings, Pelicans, Pistons, Nuggets).

THE UGLY

The Blazers have among the longest conference finals drought. Charlotte, New Orleans, and the Clippers have never made a conference final. The Wizards last made it in 1978. The Knicks and Blazers last made it in 2000. Since that fateful 4th quarter against the Lakers, 24 different teams have made a conference finals, and 17 have made it that far in the 2010's.

THE MEDIOCRE

The Blazers last (and only) ring was in 1977, which makes them 14th most recent. A dozen teams --half of which were not around in 1977 -- have never won a ring. Rochester (Sacramento) won in 1951 and St. Louis (Atlanta) won in 1958. The Blazers are 1 of 5 teams (also Knicks, Thunder/Sonics, Wizards, and Bucks) who last won in the 1970s.

Nurk Fever

in the last 9+ years, 418-332, a .557 winning percentage.

This just strikes me, all in all, as great 10 years to be a Blazer fan, even though the team has really only had one year (2014-2015) when they were serious contenders for a berth in the Finals.
