The crowd did not like Bradley Beal getting that final basket to get 50 points last night. I just laughed. Lighten up people.
I get tired of this sanctimonious reaction that permeates basketball when people score at the end of blowout games. There are these unwritten rules about the holysportsmanshipthat must be observed. These terrible ideas should only taint baseball.
People need to lighten up a bit. Take things less seriously. It feels good on the soul when you can laugh at something like that and then look around at other people who are getting legitimately angry. You realize you are living a much happier life than these clowns. What other problems must you have if you that gets you upset. The type of person that gets mad about that is the type of person I don't want to sit next to at a sporting event.
If I were Bradley Beal, I'd want to score 50 too. That's a pretty damn cool accomplishment, so why should I snarl at him for wanting to get a landmark he might never get another chance at? Plus, there's a simple way to end the whole argument. Don't let him get to 49 in the first place.
These are professional athletes, not 8th graders. I think they can handle the extra two points.
