In looking at the makeup of the team, the salary impact, injuries, etc, I'm not overly optimistic about reaching the playoffs...not that I'm for tanking (much), but realistically we're just not there. And that's OK, especially concerning collecting more talent in this roster. I decided to try to really shake this roster the hell up (aka: IT'S REALLY NOT ENTIRELY OPTIMISTIC, BUT LET'S SUSPEND TOTAL BELIEF FOR A MOMENT). All this said, I'm trying to look at future possibilities, broken into trades/salary implications and drafting.

TRADES/SALARY IMPLICATIONS

I'm a huge McCollum fan and hate to see the dynamic duo backcourt breakup, but the defensive tendencies really just kill us (we'll see how Nurkic affects this throughout the season). I gotta say that I also VERY MUCH like Josh Jackson's outlook. Yes, that's a boat-load of rookies and young talent to exist on a roster, however there's clear talent and upside at EVERY position and we commit to a youth movement, driven by Lillard's work-ethic, example and grit. How could we obtain Josh Jackson? In a separate trade with PHI (this assumes Josh Jackson falls to PHI between now and the draft or PHI wins it, etc):
