TechnicallyConnaughton’s contract was not structured with an “option”, but a non-guaranteed season. By not cutting him, the Trail Blazers will be obligated to $1.47 million in salary, bringing their roster to 14 players and their cap total to $125.7 million.
Selected 41st overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, Connaughton has played two seasons in Portland, averaging 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game with 73 total appearances.
