Portland Trail Blazersfans patiently awaiting the city’s first NBA All-Star game will have to wait until at least 2022 to get their chance to host the league’s signature exhibition event. Trail Blazers President Chris McGowan informed the assembled press at the team’s Media Day of the unfortunate news.

Blazer’s Edge’s own David MacKay shared the details:

The Trail Blazers are one of just two current NBA franchises to never host an All-Star game, the other being the Vancouver/孟菲斯灰熊, founded in 1995. Sacramento and Oklahoma City have also never hosted this event, however earlier incarnations of the respective franchises did—Cincinnati in 1966 and Seattle in 1987.

The 2018 All-Star game will be held in Los Angeles and the 2019 event will be held in Charlotte (rescheduled from 2017).
