TheTrail Blazerssecured a much-needed win over a qualityTimberwolvesteam on Saturday. After the victory, star guardDamian LillardpraisedEvan Turner’s scoring production in the fourth quarter. Turner scored all six of his points in the early stages of the final period, which prevented Minnesota from completing a lead-capturing scoring run.
Here is what Lillard had to say after the game:
“That was huge. I think at that point, I was out of the game. Those minutes, that’s usually when the game can get out of control, and they can get away from us. Or, we can make ground. Or, the game can continue to go.
I always talk about Gerald Henderson [from] a few years ago. He would always stop the bleeding. He would always give us one of those 4-0 runs or 6-0 runs. That was the kind of run he [Turner] had right there.
[...]
He [Turner] was comfortable. He kept us alive, and kept the energy in the building.”
Turner will look to keep providing timely scoring when the Blazers face theRocketson Tuesday.
