I've said it: The future of the roster hinges on the Playoffs

In a previous not-so-much-viewed post in here, I've made a point that, in the midst of all the fireworks in our regular-season winning streak, we had to look at the long road and not rush too many praises on the players on the Blazers Roster. What I meant is, they're real pros, spectacular sometimes and the team was indeed clicking, but ALL that chatter about extensions and millions would have to wait a little bit, because the Playoffs are the end of the season are the best gauge of a player value (despite all the great things they've done and accomplished during the season).

Here's the original post://www.chasebar.com/2018/3/7/17093856/the-future-of-the-roster-hinges-on-seeding-and-playoffs?_ga=2.24079801.2026036878.1523881953-1294542974.1497466148

That goes specially for Nurkic (whose extension is probably the biggest IF in the offseason), Shabazz and Ed.

Since we're basically in a mourning period, with many talks about "the end of an era" and some deserved pessimistic looks, I think we should wait the playoffs to be over to really think about and have a productive chat about what suggestions we may have to improve the Blazers, since most were really high on the roster during the winning streak, and I suppose now the majority will be selling the Blazers low.

My take on the subject is that whatever worth our players had during the regular season took a massive blow now, barring maybe Collins (who showed poise and positive signs, for a rook), Aminu (our only player showing plusses on production compared to regular season) and maybe Harkless (showing he indeed deserves the SF spot in front of Turner). All the other players showed to be the same (Ed and Pat are doing what they do) or worse, some even crumbling to the pressure...

Let's hope there's a way out for this roster (or some part of it) next season, not an easy way, but some rosters and identities are built from unexpected ways.. and for sure Lillard will still be there leading the way, for better or worse (if you ask me, he's still a great leader, player and influence for the roster and organization).
