The catch is that we have a lot of players with good sized salaries and you have to take money back for these deals to work. Some sacrifices are required, such as taking large undesired contracts back. The major building blocks will soon be coming via trades. Let's start with players that need to be decided on; Nurk, Davis, Pconn, Bazz, Baldwin. Players who have one year left on reasonable contracts; Aminu, Layman, Papagiannis. Players not moving due to age and contracts; Zach Collins, Caleb Swanigan. Then we look to our two best players CJ and DAME who will bring in the most value. Lastly we have the hefty contracts that are a little harder to move; ET, Harkless, and Meyers. With all players out in the open, my forward thinking has us starting with the bare minimum. Results....

There is a delicate balance with trades and the perception is in the eye of the beholder. Some may seem far fetched from different perspectives. Please know, I tried my best to view trades from both sides equally. This first transaction includes our current alpha which makes it the hardest move of this exercise. I know it’s not real, but it’s Damian freaking Lillard people!! He provides the unique combination of great player/even better leader, person and marketable entity. Sorry to say... no more dame time, for us. With a rebuild you try and get top picks and/or young potential talent with a high ceiling. There are many different directions to go that we can discuss further. Here’s the beginning of the future.
