Blazers Draft EXCITEMENT! Draft Season Part 1 Opinions

I would like to run a little experiment to see how everyone’s opinions regarding potential draft prospects change over the course of the draft season (Combine, interviews, etc.). We are still in the beginning phase of the draft season, in which all prospects are made to look pretty good. However, reading fan posts and comments on this blog, it seems as if everyone already has some prospects in mind that they’d like to see the Blazers take a swing at. I have seen many people mentioning names like Troy Brown and Chandler Hutchison pretty frequently. Who would you like to see us pick up with pick #24?

Personally, I think the blazers have to take a shot at someone who has some semblance of star potential. I know, that seems like an obvious statement and also a long shot at #24. But I think some of the projected late-first round picks have the qualities to be a high-risk, high-reward type of pick. My favorite candidates that seems to fit this catorgory at this phase in the process are Melvin Frazier, Jerome Robinson and maybe Troy Brown. I think they all have the tools to be potential difference-makers. Of course we could play it safe and draft someone who is a safer bet to be a decent role player. But we are not just one decent role player away from contention.

As of right now, who would you like to snag with pick #24 and why?
