As a team, thePortland Trail Blazersrely heavily on outside shooting as a feature of the offense.Zach Harperof the Athletic digs into whether or not Portland improved during the off-season at the three-point line. Harper argues that the team lost accurate shooters in free agency, and while they acquired replacements, the outlook is not so sunny for the Trail Blazers.

Portland loses some great shooting withSeth Curryout. Aminu was a solid stretch-4. Harkless was atrocious (27.5 percent) last season but the year prior he shot 41.5 percent from deep. Leonard was a stretch option. Because of the missing pieces around Dame and CJ, I think we’ll see a dip in accuracy. The volume probably stays around the same but they’re going to put the ball inside more withHassan Whitesidedemanding touches.

Harper notes that bothCJ McCollumandDamian Lillardneed to improve their accuracy from the three-point line, as the team relies heavily on them to shoot from outside.
