Damian Lillard Claims Unanimous Bubble MVP Award

The votes are in and Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard claimed Bubble MVP honors by a wide margin.

Trail BlazersstarDamian Lillardwas voted the the Bubble MVP for his performances in Portland’s eight seeding games. According to Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Chris Haynes, Lillard received first-place votes from all 22 writers who delivered a ballot.

Along with MVP honors, Lillard earned a spot on the All-Restart first team. Outside of Lillard,Trail Blazers Digital Reporter Casey Holdahlrevealed that coachTerry Stottsfinished in second in Coach of the Bubble voting.Monty Williams, who coached theSunsto a terrific 8-0 record in the bubble, earned the coaching award.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania delivered the results of the first and second team voting following the news regarding Lillard’s MVP status.

Lillard averaged 37.6 points, 9.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game during the NBA restart. In a five-game stretch to close Portland’s seeding schedule, the former Weber State star crossed the 40-point threshold on four occasions.
