Jonathan Isaac

Given the current circumstance of losing the second lottery pick, unless the Blazers land a top 2 pick the Blazers ought to forgo the lottery pick and chase Jonathan Isaac, who could likely be the solution to the Blazers' problems. Orlando has a huge overcrowding at the forward position, and if Isaac somehow fell out of favor with them he would be perfect in Portland. And Jonathan Isaac is a far better fit than Jerami Grant, is far younger, and would be cheaper in the short term. Isaac could be the next NBA unicorn and would be a better fit for the future of Portland than whoever they'd draft at #6 overall.

In the west teams need an answer for players like LeBron, AD, Jokic, MPJ, Ingram, JJJ, PG, Kawhi, Ayton, and so forth. Isaac representsexactlywhat the Blazers need — a 6'10/6'11 3D forward who has tremendous defensive impact but doesn't need the ball to score. His size and skill set are far more worthy of the 6th pick than any collegiate athlete the Blazers would otherwise draft in that position.

His health is a worthy gamble considering he'd be exactly what the Blazers need, and the Blazers could use the 2025 Milwaukee pick as a sweetener. A rollout of Dame, Hart, Nassir, Isaac, Nurk would be far more formidable. The Blazers would just use their cap space, expiring deals, and potentially young talent to dole out deals for a higher quality bench. Players like Rubio, Nerlens Noel, McLemore, Kyle Anderson, and others could be gotten in free agency to round out the roster.
