Would you trade Damian Lillard for Donovan Mitchell straight up? Would the Jazz do it?
1.Pros and cons for Jazz
Pros:
-Lillard's currently a better player ( I think) and might help them over the hump. They have been regressing lately.
-Lillard would go to a really good defensive team that would likely be in the west coast finals and might contend for a championship.
-Jazz solve the chemistry problem between Gobert and Mitchell.
-Utah loves Lillard since his Weber State days and Lillard seems to have fondness for Utah too.
Cons:
-Lillard is older and maybe has just a couple of prime seasons left.
-He is pricier than Mitchell and that might hinder roster construction.
2.Pros and cons for Blazers:
Pros:
-Mitchell is younger and fits our rosters timeline better.
-He's cheaper and signed to a longer contract.
-We gain roster flexibility cap-wise (I think).
Cons:
-Mitchell isn't as good as Lillard ( but still real good).
-Mitchell probably wants to be in a big market team.
-Mitchell is lousy on defense.
-He might not be that good a teammate (unlike Lillard who is loyal to a fault, perhaps).
So would you do it?
