Kevin Costner Draft Day Game Plan for Blazers 2022 Draft Day

Do you remember the movie Draft Day with Kevin Costner? I loved this movie. It is a sports flick about a new General Manager who inherited a situation that could implode if the wrong move is made and everyone is questioning every thought and move he has even as the draft and plan unfold. I highly recommend it.

As it were, it is inspiring to me regarding this year's 2022 NBA Draft Day. It was fun to think Portland might have two First Round lottery picks, though we ended up with only 1. And, it is fun to think about a possible infusion of just the right rookie who might change the fates of this franchise. Cool. Typically, that is me. I love to figure out which rookie would fit this franchise both on the court and off of it as part of our fan base's community. But not this year. This year I am inspired to make more happen than simply get a good pick or maneuver a few spaces to get extra value. This year, I have a plan that would transform Portland's roster with a load more of ready-now talent AND the kicker is that all of them have been more than rumored to be ready for a change of scenery and their teams are working on youth movements.

Ready? Consider this.

MOVE ONE: Trade with Oklahoma City

Trade POR Pick 1-7 with SF Didi Louzada for OKC Pick 1-12, 1-30, andSG Luguentz Dort

Why does OKC Do this? Well, the opportunity to move up in the low lottery and nab another top pick to be paired with this years #2 overall is way to tantalizing for OKC who is in need of true Star Power. Portland is looking for picks to move.

MOVE TWO: Trade with Houston

Trade POR Pick 1-12 (from OKC) with PF Greg Brown III and partial-TPE for HOU 1-17 andPF Christian Wood

Wood wants out, Houston is on a youth movement, and moving up 5 spots and adding a young Brown3 to the package is an easy yes for Houston. Portland gets yet another 1st rounder to move and gets a versatile 2-way forward who can score and defend.

MOVE THREE: Trade with Detroit

Trade POR Pick 1-17 (from Hou), future 2025 1st, G Keon Johnson, with Eric Bledsoe contract for DETSF Jerami Grant

This trade has been hashed out quite a bit. A first this year, Keon Johnson a great prospect and former 1sr rounder last year, and a future 1st, with a contract to buy out or sit 1 year on. Detroit get a load for Jerami Grant who no longer fits the narrative of Detroits direction.

移动四:与奥兰多的贸易

Trade POR Pick 1-30 (from OKC) and partial-TPE forSF Terrence Ross

Ross is originally from Portland, and has asked Orlando for a trade. Orlando has a lot of youth going on, and getting a first rounder for Ross right now would be a nice move for the Magic front office. Portland gets a solid 6-7 wing shooter who is also a good defender.

MOVE FIVE: Sign Free Agent

波特兰的迹象FC LaMarcus Aldridgeto come back and play his last couple seasons for his first franchise. Maybe the move would rejuvenate his motor much like Portland did for Melo? This one is for LaMarcus and for the fans, but it sure would shore up depth in the front court.

So the 2022 Portland Trail Blazers opening night roster would look something like:

Damian Lillard - Anfernee Simons - Brandon Williams

Josh Hart - Terrence Ross - Luugentz Dort

Jerami Grant - Nassir Little - Justise Winslow

LaMarcus Aldridge - Christian Wood - Trendon Watford

Jusuf Nurkic – Drew Eubanks
