2023-24 Salary Cap Tracker
This posting is to track the Blazers salary situation as the Free Agency / Trading period unfolds. If this posting remains in the sidebar (hint - needs 5 recs) I'll update it during the next several weeks as the Blazers make moves.
This isnot a prediction,it is a Tracker. It is meant to show where the Blazers are with respect to the Tax Threshold and the 1st Apron (which becomes a hard-cap if the Blazers use more than the $5M TP-MLE amount of their MLE, or accept a player in a sign & trade).
I've listed 18 Blazer players below. The Blazers can have a maximum of 15 regular contracts (non 2-way) or a minimum of 14 entering the season.
In the Potential column is the player's current salary, or for free agents, the maximum salaries the Blazers can offer using the various Bird Rights applicable to each free agent. I've also listed the amounts of the Exceptions (MLE, BAE, TPE) that are available to the Blazers.
Projection Column
In order to provide some context for the Blazers Salary Cap situation I've provided a Projection column, which I will update with the actual moves the Blazers make in the next few weeks.
Starting Projection Notes:
I made a starting Projection that allows the Blazers to use the entire $12.4M Full MLE (which requires staying below the 1st Apron) with a roster of 14 players. It includes re-signing Grant ($30M), Thybulle ($5M), and Eubanks ($2M), although I believe Eubanks will be seeking more than that veteran minimum salary. To make that work I projected they would trade Keon Johnson for no salary in return (perhaps gaining or losing a 2nd round pick). It would also work to waive him, which would add about $900K to their "dead money". Finally, I also projected that they would waive Knox' non-guaranteed salary (or they could possibly use it in a larger trade if they guarantee his salary by June 29).
如果你检查薪资数据,你会看到are also paths to duck the tax by using the $5M TP-MLE instead of the $12.4M Full MLE, or if a salary (Simon's for instance) is reduced slightly in a trade or Grant's free agent salary is less than projected, they could use the $8.3M TPE instead.
