A Trade With Miami That Might Not Suck

废话,我可能已经找到了一个可以接受的方式发送Dame to Miami. The Heat send the bulk of the offer reported for Portland to San Antonio instead.

For the Spurs to get involved they only give up Sochan, and the net amount of a first and a second to us. Bullock is salary fodder who we instantly waive. They also dump the overpaid Graham on Miami to backup Dame. Osman is filler depth for the Heat. They are swapping out Sochan’s upside for Herro’s shooting and playmaking ability around Wemby. They need a proven shooter/scorer to help open the floor, so it’s a talent swap that makes sense for them. And given they have so many draft picks still after this trade makes it a reasonable deal for them. Watch Pop work his magic with Jovic and Jacquez, the latter who totally feels like a Spurs kind of player.

The Blazers get more interesting firsts that are controlled by the Spurs. Toronto’s next year and Atlanta’s 2025. The Boston 2028 is likely meh, but we add a couple pick swaps in 2027 and 2029 from the Heat and hope they have some down years then.

Lowry mentors Scoot for half a season before we waive him during the Feb buyout period so he can sign with a contender for a playoff run.

With Lowry and Bullock both expiring, that’s $41M in cap relief for Portland next summer. With the expiring dead money we have this year, Portland can free up approximately $45M which would end up giving them around $20M in cap space next summer. They can then start making deals to take on a bad contract or salary dump for more future draft capital. Or perhaps even sign a real free agent!

Sochan becomes an interesting prospect to work into the mix, and becomes a versatile frontcourt defender. Having him, Murray, and Little makes Jerami Grant expendable for trade next summer as well. And perhaps Orlando Robinson has a future as a backup center.
