Lillard, youth at center of Blazers' new identity

"I think what's going to make this transition easier is, there is no confusion now," Olshey said. "Their eye line goes right to Damian. He's going to set the tone from an organizational standpoint about what we expect from our players culturally on and off the court. How we play, how we behave, what our values are."

Olshey using revised ‘Clipper Model’ to reboot Trail Blazers

It’s an emerging roster," said Olshey. "It’s younger guys, that their best days are ahead of them. In terms of how they are all going to fit together, we’ll see how quick that takes place. But I think that’s what we’re waiting for – we’re waiting for this group of players to emerge the way the previous group did."

"I think under the model we're trying to build I knew (Aminu) would be a perfect fit, just like Ed, in that model," Olshey said. "They're guys that can grow in the organization."

Lowe: Davis and Aminu Potential Free-Agent Steals

5

This is an older article, but Zach Lowe mentions both Ed Davis and Al Farouq Aminu as potential free agent steals. My favorite quote about Davis: "His ideal frontcourt mate is a big who can defend post-up threats and shoot 3s — a rare find." We just so happen to have that "rare find" in one Meyers Leonard. I'm now past being depressed about the breakup, and am looking forward to watching this young team grow!

At least we arent Dallas- Wes gets Max Deal!

How will Thunder respond to Enes Kanter offer?

The price for that kind of payroll is immense, as Oklahoma City would be on the hook for a luxury tax payment of approximately $28 million and a grand total price tag of approximately $127 million.
