Former Blazer Armon Johnson signed a one-year deal in Germany with BG Goettingen, the team announced. The team's nickname is "The Violets". Apparently after his time in Portland and a very brief stint with the Nets he suffered a severe knee injury in his debut for a team in Kazakhstan in 2012, so he had to pause and rehab until March 2014. Since then he only played 11 games in Spain for a team that got relegated from the ACB to the second league, and 5 games for a team in France before he got cut, then in the d-league for the Austin Spurs. His new headcoach: "We have been looking for a player who already has played at a very high level, but needs a second chance to start again. Amon fits this profile exactly." "Armon can be used versatile on the point and shooting guard position. He'll especially help us with shot creation." According to other press releases on the website of the team he seems to have been signed to replace point guard Kalid El-Amin, who played just one NBA season with the Chicago Bulls.
