Here is an article from Rip City Project praising Wes Matthews defense.
The retiring WNBA star becomes the NBA's first female coach.
Maps of the most hated football and basketball teams by state. No surprises except maybe that the Lakers are even the most hated team in California.
I saw this twitter exchange between Lillard and Love and thought it was pretty funny. Its pretty cool to see Dame take ownership for the city that he plays for.
The USAB showcase game will be televised on ESPN tonight at 6. Tune in to see Dame's White team take on the Blue squad. Rosters are in the link, along with some practice footage. My money is on the White team.
The Brothers Lopez are in Russia on a tour sponsored by the NBA. "Walking around Moscow, we get the typical responses from people that we get in the States. Everybody’s response to height is pretty universal. A lot of the girls are surely turning their heads because of my Harrison Ford-ish good looks, which again, is a typical response anywhere in the world. We’re really not so different."
Please, please, please, someone take a look at Dave's method of determining order which would be determined by the last three years record instead of just last year.
Would a sign-n-trade for Bledsoe be possible? I imagine Phoenix would receive some nice offers but I would trade Matthews, Wright, and Leonard (close to $13M) for Bledsoe if it's allowed. Bledsoe is the elite perimeter defender the Blazers need. He can guard the other teams best guard while Dame can switch 1-2 on offense. Bledsoe's not the shooter that Matthews is, but he's a much better defender, penetrator and finisher at the rim. We do sacrifice some shooting but Dame and Batum are plenty capable of picking up the slack, and I think it benefits us to get to the FT line more which Bledsoe attacking will achieve. Phoenix and Hornacek are said to value shooting, which they get in Matthews and Wright. The are also a little shy at the 2 and 3. Leonard could be sold as the Wario to Alex Len, insurance as Len continues to struggle with injuries. If Phoenix would agree, I would do this deal. The one caveat is Matthews being a fan favorite, not to mention LaMarcus Aldridge's best remaining friend and stalwart of the team. Dame-Bledsoe-Batum-LA-Lopez with a bench of Blake-McCollum-Barton-TRob-Kaman sounds nice. We still have Freeland-Claver-Crabbe to round out the roster and pick up 2 more vet minimums.
Clutch shot with 19 seconds remaining to put Team Blue up by 5.
