A Calm, Sensible Step-Back 3

Getting back in the swing of doing more sportswriting. Here's an inclusive devotional on keeping a hold of my Blazer-related fandom.

I wonder if he'll wear his headband.

Every now and then we get a good article about one of the assistant coaches.

What's with all these shoulder injuries recently?

Kurt Thomas looking for a contender?

This is not too serious of a post, but I wanted to put this link out there because the Blazers frontcourt depth has been lacking from time to time. Just looking at some options out there. And I also wonder if he and other players see the Blazers as a legit contending team.

Here's a link to CJ's 2nd game...he's got an NBA handle plus.

His shot may only be so-so right now. But ....CJ can really handle the ball in traffic. CJ was able to get into the paint almost any time that he wanted to. So much so, that he played a lot at PG.... especially in half court settings,to breakdown the defense. Granted it's only D-League....but I think you can tell that it's NOT the reason he can do this. To me.... he "may" already be the Blazers best playerto get into the paint....to create a good shot for himself or others. He's a special talent, but he's no Jason Terry..... he's going to bemuch much better.

Babbitt heating up

Babbs has found his stroke and is finding some minutes lately for Nizhny. He scored 21 in 24 minutes in the game above. Check the video for some nice LB highlights including a nasty two-hand stuff at 1:55, and some classic Babbitt lowlights on D. Come for the Chalupacabra, stay for the slo-mo jumpshot footage.

Sorry, but I can't stop watching the Reno Kid. Wish he were still around at the end of our bench.
