PATTY MILLS RELASED FROM CBA! Where to next?

27

Patty Mills has finally been released from his CBA contract after being released by the Xinjiang Flying Tigers for 'supposedly' faking an injury. He is hopeful to get back in the NBA, with teams such as the Lakers possibly interested in him. Seeing as Portland still owns his rights, do we keep him or trade him? His speed and shooting could prove valuable to any team. What do you all think?

Broussard: Blazers "Once Again Willing" To Trade F Gerald Wallace

96
Chris BroussardofESPN.com(Insider) reportsthat the Portland Trail Blazers are open to moving Gerald Wallace and could play facilitator in a bigger deal that involves Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.... ---------------------- "Orlando is underwhelmed by the Nets' personnel and would want a third or fourth team involved in any trade. It's possible the clubs could revisit the three-team trade they nearly pulled off in December since Portland is now, according to sources, once again willing to part with Gerald Wallace. Back in December, talks between the three teams had Wallace joining Lopez in Orlando. While the Nets would be amenable to such a deal, they don't currently have any three-team packages on the table because of the uncertainty over whether the Magic will trade Howard, sources said. It's difficult to arrange such complicated trade scenarios when you're not sure the main team in the deal will play ball." ... [Raymond] Felton, who is having the worst season of his career, had spoken with coach Nate McMillan about coming off the bench to jump start his game, but only temporarily. If the lineup change persists, Felton will be even more uncomfortable and unhappy than he is already. Felton is in the last year of his contract and making $7.5 million. The question interested teams have to ask themselves is how much are you willing to give up for a potential rental. The Lakers would have interest, but what are they going to give up? Fear of the luxury tax penalty would likely keep them from using their trade exception on Felton. ----------------------text edited, bumped to front page

Stein: Blazers "Trying Hard" To Trade For Suns G Steve Nash

326
Marc SteinofESPN.com reportsthat the Portland Trail Blazers are "trying hard" to trade for Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Steve Nash and have been pursuing him "for a while." ------------------------- Said another: "Because of his age and because he can leave in the summer, offers for Nash haven't been as star-laden as you'd think." Yet even if the Blazers were willing to include the widely coveted Nicolas Batum in a package for Nash -- which is a matter of debate depending on who's doing the gossiping -- sources say Phoenix continues to put out the message that it won't deal Nash unless Nash asks to be traded. Which is something Nash has consistently said he won't do. -------------------------Alex KennedyofHoopsWorld.com reports…------------------------- Steve Nash on Portland rumors: "Portland’s great. They’ve got a great team, great fans and a great organization. It’s a terrific situation." ------------------------- Similar rumors have persisted for weeks monthsyears. The trade deadline is March 15. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com |Twitter

Phan: Blazers F Nicolas Batum Starting To Put It Together

17
Justin Phanof雅虎体育, a very talented NBA fantasy writer, writesthat Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum was starting to put it together prior to the All-Star break. ------------------------ You know how the Blazers front office had consistently said Batum was more or less off limits in trade discussions? This is exactly why. What he's managed to do this month and in his six games as a starter is 100 percent legitimate, and not just a byproduct of a few fluky, short-term statistical blips. It's a result of an extremely talented and gifted player finally living up to his potential and playing to his full capability. It's him finally getting past those sporadic moments of genius and stringing them all together on a consistent basis. ------------------------ That quote is part of an extended back-and-forth discussion of a number of players. There are some more thoughts on Batum if you hit the link. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com |Twitter

Sams: An Analysis Of Former Blazers G Brandon Roy's Clutch Shooting

10
Jordan SamsofLibertyBallers.comhasa very nice statistical analysisof clutch shooting in the NBA since 2000. Former Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy finds his way into the more modern portion of the study (2006-2007 to present). Roy had the second highest field goal percentage in the qualified group, behind only Miami Heat All-Star forward LeBron James. In a later portion of the study, looking at shots taken in the final 24 seconds of a game since 2006, Roy was tops in field goal percentage among all qualified players, at 42 percent. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com |Twitter
