Bad news for the Suns even if they make the playoffs: "Not this season, not at all," said Dr. Pravin Dugel, the Valley eye surgeon who operated on Stoudemire's detached retina two weeks ago. "The Suns have the same goal - to make sure he can resume his career. "It's very difficult to explain to anyone how serious this is. It's more serious than any knee or ankle surgery. The healing is excruciatingly slow and delicate." Stoudemire suffered multiple tears, new and old, and had a "very large" and "traumatic" retina detachment with blood in his right eye at the time of surgery. There was hope of a return to activity in eight weeks, but Dugel said the recuperation could take months. "Now it's a matter of just waiting for his body to resorb the fluid," Dugel said. "So far, it's resorbing slowly." His surgeon makes it sound as though the injury could be career threatening if not given enough time to heal, and that is if it does heal well. Thinking about it, it's understandable. If a player was partially or completely blind on one eye, it would be terribly hard to play as well as now when constantly having to turn your head to see that "weak side". Good luck to Amare that everything heals completely and there are no long-term effects.
Over at my blog I've compiled a list of the players who have clinched the most chalupas at home games by hitting the shots that put the team at or over 100 points. Check it out and let me know what you think. Also, anyone know where I can get play-by-play game logs for 2002-03 and prior so I can complete the rest of the project?
Jason Terry gets schooled in the open court. Chris Paul goes through Jet's legs with the dribble and passes off for a transition dunk.
Remember those collectible glasses? How could you forget? He's a commercial for them starring Mark Bryant. There are few good vintage Blazer related videos (as well as local TV clips as well) on this site..good stuff!
3/4 of the way down "Only an insane person would believe that Portland did the right thing two summers ago."
He doesn't like either one.
The tough times continue for the Kings and for the Maloof bros. Pretty soon the Kings won't even have planes for road trips, just a Greyhound bus and some Hostess cupcakes...
Its good to know that Jack is in a good fit. Will we ever regret it? Pritchard looked a little nervous in the photo Ben took with .7 left in last nights game.
